Is there any GOOD weight loss solutions other than gastric bypass?

Something that actual overweight people can do…..
KEEP IN MIND everybody DOESNT overeat, eat junk or sit on their butt all the time, maybe overweight because of health issues… BE NICE!

    The lap band procedure is another option. Basically, they go in and put a plastic band around your stomach, which limits the amount of food that it can hold. It is less invasive and you recover quicker. Also, the old fashion eat right and exercise still works and is the best way to learn good eating and exercising habits.

    Exercise to burn more calories than you take in – DAILY. To make that easier, eat healthier.

    Rule # 1 – the ONLY way to lose weight is to metabolise fewer calories than you burn.

    Rule # 2 – everything else is the application of rule # 1.

    You must increase the calories burnt and/or reduce the calories metabolised. Best way to do this is to find something you enjoy – if it’s no fun, you will struggle to keep it up.

    In the last year, I’ve gone from 255 to 190, on the way to 155. I did this by rollerblading, yoga & becoming a vegetarian – all enjoyable to me.

    cut your calories. I lost 55 lbs cutting down to 1200 calories a day and it’s still coming off. I walk to exercise, but not what you’d call “on a regular basis.” I eat 5 times a day and I’m never hungry. eat mostly fruit, veggies, fiber and protein — skip almost all sugars, but if you count you can still have ‘em– a tootsie pop is only 60 calories!

    eat extremely healthy in good portions and exercise.. it takes a while but you’ll get there…
    if you’re looking to lose weight FAST, I went on nutrisystem for about a month and lost close to 13 pounds, it was amazing, but keep in mind that it’s not cheap and the food is not that amazing.
    There are a lot of other diet programs out there and if you’re like i was and find it hard to diet on your own without any strict guidelines, then the diet programs are a good way to go if you can spare the money for them.

    Well, if you dont wanna jog or anything like that, you can do an endurance wieght lifting workout. You basically lift and use lighter weights in your exercises, but more repititions and shorter resting periods.

    Yeah, it’s this awesome new diet called “eat right and excercise” and it WORKS!

    Don’t mind the sarcasm, but I’m really serious. You don’t have to jump into a vegetarian diet and a strict cardio & weight training routine. Start by cutting out foods that you know damn well are bad for you (chips and fatty dip, fast food, candy…) and just go for a nice walk for an hour a day. Eventually you’ll be able to fix your diet with less of other things that are too fatty, more fruits and vegetables, and you’ll start feeling ready to work out more, hiking, jogging, swimming…

    A gastric bypass is not for the simply overweight individuals is for the severely obese. The real solution is not to gain weight in the first place. The alternate solution is to eat healthy and exercise. Its the only thing that works.

    Eat fewer carbs, try to walk several miles at least three times a week, and drink lots of water. :)

    Unfortunately, however, gastric bypass surgery is statistically the most successful way to lose weight and, more importantly, keep it off.
