When you are focused and mentally prepared for this journey you have a higher chance of successfully losing and maintaining weight loss. When you are focused you plan your meals (at least mentally), or get a plan that takes all the guesswork out of meal planning, ahead of time. You always keep the homestretch in mind and how it will feel once you get there. All of these factors will motivate and help you reach your goal.
A proven way to monitor what you are eating and help keep you motivated is keeping a food journal. When you are tracking what you are eating, you remember the little snack you cheated on earlier in the day and will most likely avoid making another slip up later on in the day.
