Hi-
The best Diet for a Vegan is naturally a RAW food diet. It is the oldest diet in the world, and still exists today.
You get more enzymes, vitamins and a clarity.
All-you-can-eat too!
Please research it as I have and you will lose weight effortlessly like I have.
Several videos on google video and youtube to get you into the groove.
Also, you can still have cooked food on it….I bet you being vegan are already at 50% raw.
Also, don’t listen to Yanira’s little infomercial above. You click on her link and the woman says her childrens names are Michelle, Jason, and Nicole. Oh, Snap!
Enjoy the wholesome goodness of the all carrot diet. Carrots are nutritionally complete and are known for their weight loss properties.
Eat less, exercise more. That’s all there is to it. Eat no more than 1500 calories a day and no less than about 1300.
If you eat dairy and/or eggs the vegetarian south beach diet will result in quick weight loss. Basically you cut out the sugar and white carbs and you can have whole wheat breads and pastas, but mostly you will eat lots of vegetables and protein foods (nuts, beans, soy, eggs, dairy, etc). Be sure to drink lots of water on this because you will be eating a lot of fiber. Don’t confuse it with atkins/no carb diets, because you still have carbs, just not the bad kind.
As a vegetarian, you automatically are going to weigh less than non vegetarians.
I suggest that you re examine your current food intake. If you eat indian food then all you have to do is reduce your portion sizes. It is possible to over eat and gain weight even as a vegetarian if you don’t control portion sizes.
If you’re going to make rice etc, start with 1/4 cup of cooked rice as your serving, then 1/4 cup of chickpeas etc, that’s what a serving looks like.
Fruits and veggies on the other hand, enjoy them!
I would love to know what else you eat so that I can offer more suggestions for you.
Diets don’t work, only lifestyle changes work. Since you need to lose 45 pounds, you should be working wtih your doctor on this.
This website, run by the Mayo Clinic, has a copy of the vegetarian food pyramid on it. Use it when planing your meals.

Eat less, move more. Eat four to six meals a day with breakfast being the largest and dinner the smallest. Eat the majority of your calories earlier in the day. Avoid sodas and junk foods.
In a day i will eat
I start the day with multi vitamins to supplement the vitamins i miss out on by not eating meat or cows milk. I also drink a glass of room temperature water and half a squeezed lemon or lime
Breakfast:
multi grain bread with mashed hard boiled egg and paprika with a spearole tea
or
Just right tropical with soy milk (im allergic to cows milk) and a spearole tea
Morning tea:
Nuts or fruit and organic fruit or vegetable juice
Lunch:
Salad (mung beans, lettuce a few types, feta, olives, tatsoi, spinach, nuts and sometimes cous cous. Dress with Chili, lime, coriander and olive oil blend). Spearole tea
Snack:
nuts or fruit and organic fruit or vegetable juice
Dinner:
Salad baguette and spearole tea
or
Salad on rice paper and spearole tea
as for exercise in a day i will spend and hour one wii fit, an hour dancing, and 30-60 minutes stretching
I’m 18
Spearole tea might be expensive to buy in the USA if your from there, so try green tea instead. With all the add diary like low fat yogurt to snacks
Drink lots of water its also good for your skin. I drink 5 litres a day (1.1 gallons) but don’t overly drink as this can cause water intoxication.
Hope that helped
I know of two diets for vegetarians you can try, without starving to death. One of them is the “The “6 Meal” Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet”. You eat smaller portions, but several times a day so you are never hungry.
You can include more beans and vegetables oils in your diet, because they are complex carbohydrates and make you feel “full” and, therefore, less tempted to cheat between meals.
Another option is a low carb diet. There’s a vegetarian version of the famous Atkins diet, which is much healthier than the original. You can loose a lot of weight AND lower your cholesterol levels at the same time.
Some foods you can eat: “High-protein vegetables and grains, including soybeans, couscous, pearled barley, white beans, and lentils. Go crazy on soy burgers, veggie bacon, breakfast links. Nuts are also recommended. You can try peanuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios, cashews, pine nuts, and walnuts.”
What you shouldn’t eat when following this diet: pasta, rice, sugar, cereal, bread, potatoes and cakes.
